Habersham Humane Society Receives $5000 Grant from the Ryan Newman Foundation
We were pleased to announce this past July that HHS had been awarded a $5000 grant from the Ryan Newman Foundation to support our low cost spay/neuter program.
This award provided sterilization procedures for close to 100 animals! Spaying and neutering pets is the most effective and humane way to reduce the number of unwanted and homeless pets. HHS helps to provide this service through collaboration with the Hall County Humane Society of North Georgia for a small donation, to qualifying pet owners in Habersham and surrounding areas when we have available funds.
Our funding is based on donations, fundraising and grants, so please think of Habersham Humane Society when you are doing your charitable giving.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman and his wife, Krissie, established the Ryan Newman Foundation in January 2005 and is a part of the NASCAR Foundation’s family of charities.
The mission of the foundation is to educate and encourage people to spay/neuter their pets and adopt dogs and cats from animal shelters; to educate children and adults about the importance of conservation so the beauty of the great outdoors can be appreciated by future generations; to provide college scholarship funding through the Rich Vogler Scholarship program to students.
You can visit the Ryan Newman Foundation and thank them for their support and you can visit them on their website www.ryannewmanfoundation.org.
